Sapphire is the birthstone for the month of September and also marks a 45th wedding aniversary.
Sapphires are often used with other gemstones such as diamond to create beautiful sapphire and diamond rings and jewellery. Sapphires have been mined since the time of the ancient Roman Empire and along with Diamonds, Rubies and Emeralds are among the most popular gemstones in use today.
Sapphires are made up of the mineral corundum and although blue is the most common colour used in Antique and Vintage Sapphire Rings and Jewellery, other colours are also used such as green sapphire, yellow sapphire, pink sappire and orange sapphire, all of which can be used in Vintage and Antique Jewellery. |
